i get the feeling the input levels aren't high enough -- my waveform doesn't seem to get much higher/lower than +/- 0.1....
i've already set the input level on my snowball (via mac ox --> system preferences --> sound) to the max volume, and done the same in audacity, but i'm still getting these low levels. the blue (snowball) website is not very helpful, and i've done what i think i can in audacity, but still to no avail.
first of all: IS this a problem (it is, right?)?
and if so: any suggestions on how to fix it?

checked the other posts on this forum already, to no avail. tried plugging the mic into my laptop (macbook air) to see if it was a computer issue, and the problem persisted.software: Audacity 1.3.12 beta (for Mac OS X)

help!VueScan is compatible with the PIE PrimeFilm 3650PRO on Windows x86, Windows x64, Windows RT, Windows 10 ARM, Mac OS X and Linux.
If VueScan isn't working with the Firewire cable, try a USB cable, try a different Firewire port or a different Firewire cable.
This scanner has an infrared lamp for scanning film. VueScan's 'Filter Infrared clean' option can be used to remove dust spots from film scans. This is similar to (and we think better than) the ICE and FARE algorithms.

It scans with both visible light and infrared light in a single pass.

Infrared cleaning works well with all types of color negative and color slide film, including Kodachrome. However, silver-based black/white film doesn't work with infrared cleaning because the silver particles look the same in visible light and infrared light.

If you're using Windows and you've installed a PIE driver, VueScan's built-in drivers won't conflict with this. If you haven't installed a Windows driver for this scanner, VueScan will automatically install a driver.
